South Staffordshire College is launching a suite of Renewable Technologies training courses, building on its commitment to the environment.

Caring for the environment and renewable technology is a key priority for South Staffordshire College.  As the first FE College in England to obtain the ISO14001 Environment Management Standard and the Eco-Campus Silver Award, its new Foster Centre for Learning, due to open in September on Rodbaston Campus, will incorporate the use of bio-mass boilers, rain water harvesting, intelligent building and lighting systems and the use of thermal massing throughout and is designed to achieve the Breeam Excellent standard for building design.

The new courses cover Solar Photovoltaic, Heat Pumps (Air Source and Ground Source) and Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems Installer Certificates, offering nationally recognised qualifications accepted by the Solar Trade and Renewable Energy Associations.

The 3-day courses will run at both Tamworth and Rodbaston Campuses from September through to November 2011.
