Green Pass opens door to a festival of fun - 9-17 June 2012

Organisers of Bristol’s BIG Green Week in June promised a festival of fun today, as the first of a limited edition of ‘Green Pass’ wristbands went on sale.

The Green Pass gives festival visitors advanced booking for events, up to 20% reductions on tickets, and discounts at a range of local cafes, restaurants, and hotels during BIG Green Week.

A Bristol trio of carnival musicians marked the launch of the Green Passes at Colston Hall, the headquarters for the nine day festival, which takes place between 9 -17 June 2012.

Bathing Waters: Current & Future Environmental Requirements - 18th April 2012

The EU Bathing Waters Directive has significantly driven improvements within the UK in water quality of bathing waters over the past 10 years. A revision to the EU Bathing Waters Directive will be introduced in 2015 which applies more rigorous standards. Within the current directive, the parameters specified as indicators of health risk to bathers are faecal coliforms and total coliforms. Within the revised directive, these will be replaced by the two parameters E Coli and intestinal enterococci.

Water, Wastewater and Environmental Monitoring

WWEM the specialist event for the Water, Wastewater and Environmental Monitoring community.

November 2012 will be the fifth time this dedicated biennial event will be held. WWEM has evolved into a very successful event since its inception back in June 2005. The event has firmly established itself as the number one event for Water/Wastewater and Environmental Monitoring professionals to attend. In 2010 a dedicated Gas Detection zone of companies who provide fixed and portable gas detectors and calibration gases was introduced those topics will be expanded to include hazardous areas for the 2012 event.
