Niramax overhauls SRF production line with new shredding technology

Waste management specialist The Niramax Group, has overhauled its alternative fuel production line with the switch to new shredding technology. The move is expected to boost capacity for the Hartlepool-headquartered organisation, by as much as 30% per year.

Previously operating a high-speed system to transform pre-sorted commercial and industrial waste into a refined SRF for use in combined heat and power plants, the Niramax development team was encountering repeated problems with machine damage, unplanned downtime and excessive wear costs.

Metal specialist boosts refrigerator recycling capabilities with UNTHA shredder

Organic waste specialists collaborate in £1.25m global food waste project

Organic waste and Waste-to-Energy technology specialist Tidy Planet has partnered with shredding expert UNTHA UK, to supply an industrial-scale solution for a new multi-million-pound Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) at a gas pipeline expansion project in Indonesia.

Macclesfield-headquartered Tidy Planet has previously worked on a variety of composting projects in the global oil and gas sector. This latest venture requires numerous processes to treat the client’s plastic, metal and wood wastes, as well as five additional tonnes of food waste generated per day at a liquid gas plant in Tanguhh.

Global manufacturer introduces baling to business

A global manufacturer of exhaust gas control systems has installed a mill-sized waste baler on its UK site, as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to boost recycling levels.

The RWM400 machine – supplied by North East-based ATK Equipment – is now being used to bale the large volumes of plastic and polythene waste materials handled by the GT Emissions Systems factory.

Lancashire Waste boosts SRF production capacity with new UNTHA shredders

Alternative fuel production specialist Lancashire Waste Recycling has halved plant wear costs and further boosted manufacturing capacity with an investment in its sixth UNTHA shredder.

The firm has been making a high-specification Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) at its Fleetwood site since it was established in 2013. An UNTHA XR2000 pre-shredder fed two TR3200s secondary shredders, to produce a renewable energy source for the cement industry.

Raymond Blanc hotel closes food waste loop with Rocket Composter

Raymond Blanc’s Michelin-starred luxury hotel and restaurant Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons has invested in composting and food waste drying technology from Macclesfield-headquartered Tidy Planet, helping the site to compost 94% of its annual food waste.

The A1200 Rocket Composter is the waste solutions provider’s third largest machine and can handle up to 2.5 tonnes of food or organic wastes per week. It will be located next to the iconic restaurant’s gardens and process the kitchen’s food and other compostable wastes, plus the site’s horticultural wastes.
