Manchester Metropolitan University - School of Science & the Environment

  • PDF

The School of Science and the Environment was created in summer 2010 from the previously existing Divisions of Biology and Chemistry and the Department of Environmental and Geographical Sciences, to produce a school of approximately 60 academic staff and over 1500 full time equivalent students.

The integrated school is able to develop and enhance teaching and research synergies from across the disciplines of Biology, Chemistry, Forensic Science, Ecology, Environmental Science, Geography and Sustainability.

This allows for the development of new initiatives that can respond to and pre-empt changes in student, employer, and governmental requirements, and research imperatives; thereby creating new areas of scientific enquiry and the production of new courses for Undergraduates, Postgraduates and Industry.
