UNTHA unveils new ZR two shaft shredder

UNTHA UK has revealed a new two shaft shredder – the ZR. And, following 24 months of rigorous industry research and development – including prototype trials on the continent – the dual shaft machine now promises the lowest lifecycle costing (LCC) for waste, wood and metal shredding in its class.

The high-performance ZR has been specifically engineered for multi-shift, continuous pre-shredding – even when handling difficult materials some would consider economically unshreddable. And it will make its UK debut, when it is unveiled at the UNTHA showcase in the North of England, in October.

Hazardous waste specialist Malary bolsters UNTHA shredding fleet

Industrial waste management specialist Malary has bolstered its hazardous material recycling capabilities with an investment in a second RS100 UNTHA shredder.

The heavy duty four shaft UNTHA RS100 is the latest addition to the fleet, with another existing RS100 already in operation.

Kazakhstan oilfield diverts 255 tonnes of food waste from landfill through composting

Macclesfield-based Tidy Planet has shipped four of its A900 Rocket Composters and a bespoke Dehydra Dewatering system to an oilfield in Kazakhstan, to compost the site’s 255 annual tonnes of food waste.

Situated in Western Kazakhstan in the Burlin region, the remote 50km² facility is a major producer of oil and gas and has 4,000 employees working on the premises at any one time.

Rocket Composter investment helps AstraZeneca reduce waste and embrace circular economy

Multinational pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca has invested in an A900 Rocket Composter from Tidy Planet, to process its 100-acre manufacturing site’s 24 tonnes of annual food and green waste.

The investment forms part of the organisation’s wider sustainability target to reduce waste and embrace a circular economy. As part of this environmental commitment, the company is also aiming to achieve zero-carbon status at its 4,000-person-capacity campus, by 2025.

UNTHA UK announces innovation plans as team eyes £15m turnover

Industrial shredder specialist UNTHA UK has revealed a number of team changes and plans for the year, as managing director Marcus Brew (pictured) gears up to record £15m turnover by the end of 2021. The promotions, hires and product launches follow a landmark year for the business, which reached £10.5m revenues despite the economic backdrop.  

Communications professional Katie Mallinson – a long-standing supplier – has been appointed as marketing director, to build on the firm’s brand voice in both the UK and overseas. Founder of her own PR and copywriting firm, her contribution to the board will support the strategic development of UNTHA UK’s external and internal dialogue across a range of communication channels.

Tidy Planet exports Rocket Composter machinery into Australia

Organic waste and Waste-to-Energy solutions expert Tidy Planet is shipping its first ever Rocket Composter unit to Australia, where it will help a not-for-profit community farm to divert 200-300 kg of food and green wastes from landfill per day.

The global partnership – facilitated by Tidy Planet’s exclusive Australian distributor, Eco Guardians – will see the A900 In-Vessel Composter (IVC) head over 17,000 km to Fish Creek, Victoria, where it will be installed on the Rail Trail near Buckley Park Community Farm.

UNTHA launches cloud technology to optimise shredder performance
