Zero Waste to Landfill business boosts RDF capabilities with UNTHA shredder

A third-generation family-run business that achieved Zero Waste to Landfill over thirteen years ago, has further boosted its commitment to the environment with an RDF shredder from UNTHA.

Based in Staffordshire, briers has had a genuine eco-conscience since it was established exactly 80 years ago back in 1939 by William Briers. But as the forty strong team continues to handle even more commercial and industrial (C&I) waste – as well as dry mixed recycling (DMR) plus other heavy materials – an alternative fuel production system was sought to strengthen the company’s efficiency and waste handling capabilities.

Wetherby Group invests in new baling technology

Wetherby Group – a renowned manufacturer of performance building products – has installed a new compact waste baler at its UK site, as the organisation continues to expand.

The RWM75 machine has been supplied by North-Yorkshire headquartered Riverside Waste Machinery, following Wetherby Group’s decision to upgrade its existing equipment.

ESA welcomes momentum for reducing waste and boosting recycling

The UK’s waste and recycling sector has today responded to the publication of the summary of responses to the Resources and Waste Strategy consultations.

The Environmental Services Association (ESA), which represents the resources and waste industry, has welcomed the strong support for measures to reduce waste and boost recycling, and urged the incoming Prime Minister to show bold leadership in delivering change.

SigNET turns to ATK for baling needs

Organic waste heavyweights collaborate in sophisticated aerobic digestion projects

An engineering company specialising in the scientific bio-degradation of waste has formed a partnership with UNTHA shredding technology, to roll out a sophisticated aerobic digestion solution for a selection of mixed waste streams.

Bath-headquartered Advetec has treated a variety of waste and effluent, since it was established in 2000. But keen to develop a more homogenous product for optimal digestion rates, the business reached out to UNTHA to explore the capabilities of its four-shaft shredding system.

Municipal waste shredding trials led Advetec to invest in two UNTHA RS30s, which were shipped to the Caribbean and USA to process materials down to a defined <50mm specification. But as dialogue unfolded, it became apparent that UNTHA could play an integral pre-treatment role in Advetec’s turnkey XO aerobic digestion solutions, moving forward.

Mobile shredder transforms Crapper & Sons’ biomass operation

World Heritage site Fountains Abbey boosts recycling capabilities

Renowned tourist attraction Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal has boosted its recycling process with the investment in a waste baler from Riverside Waste Machinery.

The RWM75 machine is now being used to assist the team in the everyday baling of large volumes of cardboard waste, from across all areas of the 674-acre historic estate. The bales are then collected for recycling by the organisation’s waste contractor, Biffa.
